[New Build!] Advice Needed.

This is my first time building a computer so all of your suggestions are much appreciated.

I am purchasing a Z170 MOBO because I wasnt to experiment with overclocking a Non-K chip, in case you were wondering.
It would also be nice you can list out the Pros and Cons of this build.
Please point out any flaws or if you have any suggestions! I will keep track of this thread and give "Best Answer" accordingly.

As I understand it, you need a motherboard that supports "Sky-OC" to overcloack a non-"k" CPU. I don't see anything that mentions that in the motherboard specs you chose. I know some AsRock motherboards support it and they advertise the ability. I've been told some MSI boards do as well.

You can get the 6600K i5 CPU for just a little more money. If you are wanting to overclock, it is best to get a CPU designed for that purpose. You are risking blowing your money by destroying a non-overclockable CPU. Why take that risk and lose your money. Get the i5 6600K and be done with it. Here it is on Newegg and on Amazon As of this posting, they are the same price at both websites.

And for a CPU cooler, I would go with either one of the Cryorig coolers I have listed below. They are inexpensive and perform very well.

CRYORIG H5 Ultimate

Anyone of the coolers above would be better suited for overclocking. Plus, they look much better than that old EVO.

I would get the i5 6600k chip since it's $25 more, but it would be OVERKILL paired up my GTX 780 SC ACX. And if I do decide to go with the i5 6600k, I don't think air cooling would be enough 🙁 So it would probably break my bank if I go with the 6600k. But thanks for your suggestions.

But wouldn't the i5 6600k bottleneck my gtx 780?

It will perform fine. I will third that statement and suggest the 6600k

To OC the CPU (non-K you will be OCing the BCLK and results generally aren't all theat good, plus it OCs the rest of the rig since it's the mobo's Base Clock which generates more heat. Best to go with the 6600K (and there will be no bottlenecks, the 6600K can easily handle 780's or even 980's in SLI 😉
