Hello,

I'm looking for advice on my new build. Here's what I'm thinking of getting:

One extra case fan for positive pressure. One SSD for OS, one for games and VMs and one HDD for storage.

Should I get a separate SSD for my primary work VM and give it direct access to the whole drive?

Any comments on the build would be greatly appreciated.

For such a high-end CPU, you can surely get a better motherboard and a better cooler (cough cough Noctua NH-D14). You might want to get a at least 750 watt PSU if you will SLI. otherwise, you build is good to go!

My recommendation is to get a single large SSD for the OS, games, and the VM. The larger SSD's often have a speed advantage as they enable more controller lanes compared to the smaller ones though a 250GB SSD might have all the lanes already enabled. probably depends on the model. I don't think you're really gaining anything by buying multiple SSDs.
