Within a month I'm planning on building a new PC with gaming in mind. I intend to overclock to 5000 Mhz if possible or to 1.35 V whichever comes first I guess...I'm probably over powered with the 1000W supply but if I decide to SLI another GPU then I don't want to have to replace my PSU. I'm torn between a liquid cooler and the Noctua mainly because I don't want to have to remove fans in order to swap out my RAM and the size of the Noctua is scary, I keep wondering how does that huge thing hanging off the MB not locally stress the MB??? I'm also not sold on the case as it's 1. Ugly 2. Expensive, however it gets amazing reviews on newegg so....Thanks for any advice or help!

CPU: Intel Core i7-8700K (LGA 1151, 3.70GHz, Unlocked)
MB: ASUS PRIME Z370-A (LGA 1151, Intel Z370, ATX)
CPU COOLING:Noctua NH-D15 (16.50cm) OR Cooler Master HYPER ML240L RGB (5.20cm)
CASE: Cooler Master HAF X (Full tower)
RAM: Corsair Vengeance LPX (2x, 8GB, DDR4-2666, DIMM 288)
GPU: EVGA GeForce GTX 1070 Ti GAMING (8GB, high end)
SSD: Crucial SSD MX500 1TB, M.2 2280 (1000GB, M.2 2280)
PSU: Seasonic SSR-1000FX , 1000W, 80+Gold

Yeah that case is ugly, there's way better options for cheaper from Phanteks, Corsair, Fractal Designs etc.

For cooler, the Noctua is better then the Cooler Master, just be sure your case has the height to support the air cooler. If you wanna go liquid there are better options out there, the Cooler Master is just one of the cheaper ones.

Get faster RAM, 3000mhz or better would be optimal.

Your PSU is waaaaaaaay over kill. A 550-650watt PSU would be more then enough. Otherwise the Seasonics are a solid choice. Another good option would be a EVGA G2/G3 or a Corsair TX series.

Yes, that PSU is way too much more for ur needs. Get a 600w seasonic and you have a PSU for life.
For overclocking yea get a high grade memory and I would say there are better motherboards for that, the Asrock Z370 Extreme 4 is a great overclocking motherboard with plenty of VRMs and good oc bios options for you to play around.

OK Based on the above commentary, I have redesigned quite a bit, pertinently

CPU COOLING: EVGA CLC 280, However good and just freaking awesome it is, I just can't bring myself to hang that monstrosity NH-D15 off of my CPU...

CASE: Phanteks Enthoo Luxe Tempered Glass (Full tower)

PSU: Seasonic Focus Plus 850 Gold (850W) , I refuse to accept less power!!!!

RAM: Corsair Vengeance LPX (2x, 8GB, DDR4-3000, DIMM 288) Thanks for that good call.

On the MB thing I'm just ignorant of some of the terminology you are using, particularly VRM's? I've always had a great experience with ASUS on their MB's particularly, so a bit hesitant to change...
