Approximate Purchase Date: e.g.: Mid-Feb
Budget Range: $1500-1800.
System Usage from Most to Least Important: Running multiple VM's (QC and code testing, not click farming), compiling code, internet
Are you buying a monitor: No
Parts to Upgrade: CPU, 32 (or maybe even 64) RAM, MB (Z370?), Hard drive (M2), PSU, case
Do you need to buy OS: No; using Ubuntu
Preferred Website(s) for Parts: newegg.com, amazon.com
Location: City, State/Region, Country - Bloomington, IL, USA
Parts Preferences: Been a lifelong Intel guy, but not opposed to looking at AMD; currently looking very hard at the Intel Core i9-9900K
Overclocking: No
SLI or Crossfire: No; I am not a gamer, so I would actually prefer using a MB with a strong on-board video and save the GPU cost for something else
Your Monitor Resolution: 1680x1050
Additional Comments: Don't care about LED or SLI. Don't anticipate much in the way of expansion cards either. Just a high performance system, without bells and whistles. Case can be basic, but quiet. I currently have a ATX, but wouldn't mind a micro. My current system is about 10 years old and choking pretty hard on VM's.
And Most Importantly, Why Are You Upgrading: (e.g. I'm having trouble running game X or my PSU broke)
