Hey guys,

I am building a new computer, and I was hoping to get some advise from the community. I mainly use my computer for gaming, streaming, and Solidworks/AutoCAD.

Budget: $2100
Link to build: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/v9c2GX
CPU: Intel Core i7-5820K 3.3GHz 6-Core Processor
CPU Cooler: Corsair H80i 77.0 CFM Liquid CPU Cooler
Motherboard: MSI X99S Gaming 7 ATX LGA2011-3 Motherboard
Memory: Crucial Ballistix Sport 16GB (4 x 4GB) DDR4-2400 Memory x2
SSD: Samsung 840 Pro Series 256GB 2.5" Solid State Drive
HDD: Western Digital Caviar Black 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive
GPU: EVGA GeForce GTX 970 4GB Superclocked ACX 2.0 Video Card
Case: Antec Nine Hundred ATX Mid Tower Case (Is the case too small?)
Power Supply: PC Power & Cooling Silencer Mk III 850W 80+ Gold
Optical Drive: Asus DRW-24B1ST/BLK/B/AS DVD/CD Writer
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 8.1 Pro OEM (64-bit)
(Does Windows 7 have a better value since Windows 10 is coming out soon, and I want to upgrade?)
Total: $1996.49

Any advise is greatly appreciated! Thank you so much.

How heavily do you game? I'm getting a 970 with my 1.3k build. With a 2100$ build I would go for a 980/980ti. I cant find much that wouldn't be needed, say if you do heavy workloads. If you had only planned on gaming, 16 gigs would be overkill and the processor would be unnecessary. But since you use those programs, I cant say if you will really need/use those extras used for productivity. I think the motherboard is a little expensive, but I don't have much experience with that high end part.

I would choose a large Noctua air cooler . It will be quieter and work better

Use 8 gig DIMMs , not two sets of 4 x 4 gig

Does the mb have an M.2 slot? Probably and if it does you might as well have a really fast boot drive .

A 750 watt psu could SLI two GTX 970's and you wont be doing that so so a 600 watt unit wil be fine

Both win 7 and win 8 will be free to upgrade to 10 . But use 8 . Its a better OS in many key ways and has a far better license
