Hello

I've just setup my new build and tried to power on and it won't start.
The motherboard has power because the red start button lights up, but when i push it no fans start to spin and i get nothing on the display.

The setup:
Asus Maximus VII Ranger
Intel Core i7-4790K 4.00GHz (Devil's Canyon) Socket LGA1150 Processor
Kingston HyperX 3K SSD 240GB
Corsair RM Series RM 650 '80+ Gold' 650W Power Supply
Kingston HyperX Beast 8GB (2x4GB) PC3-19200C11 2400MHz Dual Channel Kit
Asus GeForce GTX 970 DirectCU II OC Strix 4096MB GDDR5

I've tried a different PSU from my old computer and it is exactly the same, which leads me to think it's not the PSU. I've tried removing the RAM and graphics card but it still won't start.

It also has no beeps or Q-Codes on the motherboard.

I'm thinking that it's possibly the motherboard that's at fault? But do you have any other suggestions?

Regards,
Chris

Thanks for the reply, the 8 pin is connected and i've tried to start touching the power switch pins but no joy

I've setup the motherboard outside of the case to make sure it wasn't shorting out on the case and it is doing the exact same thing.

It has an onboard Q-Code for error codes but this display doesn't even light up when connected to a power source or trying to start.

I'm lost as to how to fix this or is it just that the motherboard is DOA?

Regards,
Chris

I've just tried removing the 8 pin connecter and tried connecting a fan to Cha_Fan1 and no movement at all.
I assume that's a good sign that the mobo is dead?

I've already contacted Overclockers so hopefully i'll get it sent back for Monday.

I should have mentioned this in my post previously but i've tested the power supply on another computer and it powered that one up fine.

This new PC will be the death of me.. haha
