Hi guys, i have a problem with my new build in which the PC freezes and then the screen goes black with the Red CPU debug light turning on the motherboard. initially i changed the ram speed to 3200mhz what it supports but noticed that the B450 Tomahawk max doesnt support that ram speed. tuned it down to 29xx mhz still same problem. now at 2133mhz still happened.

also when my pc goes to sleep when press the power button to wake it up i first get a snowy screen, all white, red, green, black dots for about half a second then i see the login screen. what should i do?? i tried reseating the cpu fan, temp is a bit high for idle now but it can be fixed. my main problem is that if its a problem with the motherboard or cpu ?? i want to be able to fix it or get a refund or atleast exchange for a new one. any advices guys?

i also went over all the connectors if they are connected properly so no connections are loose or anything..

PSU: corsair TX650M
RX570 gb
Ryzen 5 1600AF
2x 8 gb corsair veangance pro rgb
m.2 1tb nvme.

Solution
Version 7C02v33
Release Date 2019-09-18
File Size 14.48 MB
Description
- Update AMD ComboPI1.0.0.3abba
https://download.msi.com/bos_exe/mb/7C02v33.zip

And that newer BIOS includes the fixes from the previous BIOS version:
Version 7C02v32
Release Date 2019-09-02
File Size 14.42 MB
Description
- Improve memory compatibility

And look at these instructions from MSI before you flash the BIOS:
https://storage-asset.msi.com/file/pdf/How_to_flash_the_BIOS.pdf

Just FYI,
BIOS versions 7C02v34, 7C02v35 and 7C02v36 are optimized for Ryzen 3000 CPUs.
So if you ever upgrade to a Ryzen 3600, 3700x, 3800. etc. then you will want to update the BIOS...

What BIOS are you using, any BIOS newer than version 7C02v33 will have issues running the Ryzen 5 1600AF (Pinnacle Ridge) properly.

So if you have a newer BIOS version, I would look into downgrading to version 7C02v33:
https://www.msi.com/Motherboard/support/B450-TOMAHAWK-MAX#support-cpu

After downgrading the BIOS you might be able to get that RAM kit to run at 2866, 2933 or possibly even 3200.
BUT, Corsair LPX RAM kits do tend to have a problem running at their rated speed on AMD systems for some reason.

I just installed the newest BIOS that was available, initially i also had Ethernet problems but luckily that was solved with newer drivers for the NIC.

On the BIOS version, i don't see any 7C02V33 version, i only see the Ryzen 5 1600 Pinnacle Ridge 7C02v30 is that fine?
