I recently put together a new build with some new parts, some old. The PC boots up and everything seems to be running fine and I get two combinations of beeps. Both are one long beep with three short beeps, the combonations are only about a second apart. I went through the new build guide to make sure I didn't miss anything and I've even tried bread-boarding it but same beeps each time. I looked up the beep codes on gigabytes site and it seems to be a AGP error and I've tried booting it with my graphics card and on-board graphics and to no avail same thing. Im just afraid my mobo is messed up in some way.

as per gigabyte FAQ above, 1 long beep followed by 3 short is graphic card error.
-take the card out of the socket and put it back in firmly
-DO NOT over tighten the screw holding it in place.
-make sure the 6 pin PCI E power cable is firmly plugged into the GPU.
-make sure that no video cables are plugged into the motherboard directly. they have to go into the GPU

alternatively. remove the GTX 550 ti completely, plug the monitor into the motherboard and try booting that way. you or someone else handling the card may have fried it with static shock

Ive tried with and without the graphics card and it gives me the same error beeps.

wow i'm slow today. i read that you did it and i told you to do it anyway....

in any case, gigabyte says that 1 long and 3 short beeps is a GPU fault. beyond that it gives no information. you may have to contact gigabyte about this.

Haha its ok just glad someones trying to help, and I just put in a ticket on gigabytes website about it. I just wish I could be gaming right now instead of dealing with this mess.

It says its a rev : 4.0 on the mother board. what do I need to do?

Tried the PCIEX16 slot and the PCIEX4 slot. Ive tried the onboard graphics (tried all ports dvi, vga, hdmi). still get that 1 long beep and 3 short beeps. I just dont get how Im getting a GPU error using the onboard graphics with the card not installed.

Guess Ill be sending the mobo back I cant find any solutions to my issue. Its like no ones had this problem before and I cant seem to figure it out and gigabyte is taking their sweet time to get back to me.
