new build, but don't want to re-install windows 7

I'm planning on swapping my existing LGA 2011 motherboard & CPU for a LGA 2011-v3 motherboard & CPU. Is there anyway I can do this without re-installing windows 7? Maybe a repair install or something?

most likely it will just work when you swap parts out but it is not recommended i would reinstall windows.

I agree. As long as its still your one and only PC if you have to re-activate it, MS will let you.

I just changed mobo - still X79 though - and was thinking if I have trouble, it's a good time to redo my Windows install onto a bigger SSD anyway. But I had no trouble.
