So planning to buy a new system old system was windows 10 with AMD+3 FX8350 board. Planning to go to a AM4 MSI B450 board. Now I know everyone says it is best to do a fresh install going that different in CPU/motherboards but due to the large amount of data on the original drive it will be a massive reload of everything. Also trying for find hardware keys, etc.
Now is there any easy way to transfer this by hard drive to hard drive, Or can I just use the old system disk and let it update with the new board?

Someone also mention starting up in safe mode deleting old driver them install new ones is that valid.

Irrelevant.

It STILL needs a full OS reinstall.
And after that, everything else.

Yes, it is a pain.
Yes, it is needed.

3 possible outcomes if you just wing it:
  1. It works just fine
  2. It fails completely
  3. It "works", but you're chasing issues for weeks/months.

From an FX8350 to a new Ryzen, expect #2.

No question about that. You need to have fresh drivers for you ryzen and the old drivers wont do you any justice.
Just buy a small ssd, which are cheap now for summer.

Something to think about
