Hello,
ime a new at building but learning as i go, so i decided to build for myself,i would so much appreciate it if i can get some feedback on the three products i to wish to purchase in regards to compatibility.Intel® Core™ i7-965 Processor Extreme Edition (8M Cache, 3.20 GHz, 6.40 GT/s Intel® QPI),Asus Rampage III Extreme Intel X58, 1366, 6DDR3, 4PCI-Ex16, Full CrossfireX/SLI, USB3 & SATA6, ATX, 24GB samsung tri-DDR3 1333MHz (6x4GB, Sapphire ATI Radeon HD 5970 / 2GB GDDR5 / PCI Express 2.0 / ...

The 965 isnt worth it, get a 930 and OC it to save quite a bit of money. 24GB of RAM is useless for most applications and if you are going to be building something that needs 24GB of RAM you need a workstation GPU, not a 5970, and an i7 980X or a 970 or better yet dual Xeon processors.

For gaming, 6gb is about all you can use; 24gb is a waste.
24gb would only be of use for specialized programs like photoshop or for many virtual machines.

The 5970 is the strongest single card you can buy today. It will run any games on a single 1920 x 1200 monitor well.

The i7-965 is fine if you can get it at a heavily discounted price. It is an older stepping that probably will not perform as well as the 960.
Because it is an extreme model, it has an unlocked multiplier which is intended for overclocking. If you will overclock, the 930 will overclock just as high, and cost much less.

The Asus rampage extreme is an expensive enthusiast motherboard designed for many graphics cards. It is for record seeking overclockers. There are many other X58 motherboards that will perform just as well, and cost half as much.

Use the funds you save to get a 30" 2560 x 1600 monitor. If you already have one, get a second.
