Hi guys, starting a new build (been about 15 years since last). I've got a corsair C70 case, and about 7 corsair SP and AF 120 fans. I bought a NZXT Sentry 2 fan controller. I'd like to daisy chain a number of the fans (like 2 in the front, etc - those in the same "zone") to use on the 5 channels available, but I'm not sure how to do that - the fans have a 3 pin connector. What's the best method to do that? Thanks in advance.

You need a cable like this:

They come in different versions: from two splitters all the way up to four.

The Sentry 2 can provide a max of 2A per channel. The AF120 consumes 0.4A, So you can hook up a max of 4 fans (I don't...

The Sentry 2 can provide a max of 2A per channel. The AF120 consumes 0.4A, So you can hook up a max of 4 fans (I don't recommend running a single channel at full capacity.) to one port using the appropriate splitter. The SP120 uses only 0.18A, so in theory you'd be able to run 11 fans off one port, however the cable is the limiting factor so again you will be able to hook up only 4 fans to a single channel (Port.).

Great! Thank you, I'll order those up right away. I think I only need to run at most 2 per channel to cover everything, so should be well under the max capacity of the Sentry 2. I appreciate it.

Sorry, one quick follow up question. I noticed those cables are 4 pin, and the fans I have are 3 pin. Actually, looking at the mainboard (gigabyte gaming 5), looks like the connectors are 4 pin as well, however I assumed I would just plug the Sentry 5 directly into the PS and bypass the MB.

Yes, that is what you will do. The sentry 2 isn't connected to the motherboard in any way. Don't worry, 3 pin fan cables are compatible with 4 pin fan ports and splitters, and they will only plug in one way so you can't plug them in wrong.

However, be sure to plug the fans on the CPU cooler directly to the motherboard, as improper controlling of them can lead to the CPU overheating and possibly being damaged.
