[SOLVED] New Build does not even power up anything

Just built new rig with MSI X470 Gaming Plus MB. Power supply is EVGA 650 Gold G3. The MB has 8 pin connection for ATX power and then next to it , it has another 4 pin connection. The power supply is a straight 8 pin connection.
That is plugged in fine.

CPU is Ryzen 5 2600.

No power, no sounds , no fans no nothing.
Power supply was tested fine on an Intel board .

Does that extra 4 pin ATX power supply connection matter ???

It should be able to run with just the 8 Pin.

If you have it all connected properly and the PSU is known to be viable , sounds the board may be DOA.
