Hello,

I just recently completed my first build but despite thinking I'm home free, I'm stuck with no internet!🙁

Windows 10
Gigabyte Z170x Gaming 7 Mobo

I ran the CD to install the Network and LAN drivers. No errors when doing this.

Now, the Ethernet says I am "connected" but the internet won't load. When I try to diagnose, Windows simply says "one or more components may be missing".

Any suggestions?

make sure in the bios the ethernet port is on and set to default settings. make sure the io shield not shorting the port out and the Ethernet cable is locked in. make sure the port is blinking and port on the router is too. try logging onto the router to see if the pc sending data to the router. on a new build make sure the intel chipset and mei drivers have been installed same with amd chipset drivers. if there a wifi stick and ethernet plugged into the computer at the same time disable the wifi stick.

One small update, my system after a reset is now saying "No internet access" period. No longer says Ethernet connected.

As far as the bios solution, I'm not quite sure how to get to that? Everything else seems fine. No short that I can tell, plugged in, etc.

Hi there,

Thanks for your response. I simply used the CD that came with the motherboard and installed everything except the Norton anti virus as per of the "express install".

I may not be seeing it but where do you see two Ethernet chipset drivers?

Does this have anything to do with the Gigabytes "Thunderbolt" feature? During the driver install from the CD I chose not to do "express install" which installs everything but rather picked and chose what I thought I needed and avoided things that looked like fillers.

Is it always advisable to just install everything?

Secondly, if the Ethernet drivers weren't installed, wouldn't the socket not be lighting up when a cable is inserted?

I just went into my bios->peripherals-> and I see the following regarding Ethernet:

"Intel(r) Ethernet Connection (H) I219-V - 40:8D:5C:1F:AE:2A"

If I click on it, it provided me a MAC address, pic address, chip type, adapter type, etc.

It does say "Link Status😀isconnected". The router as of this moment is not connected to the computer as I am trying to trouble shoot.

I can't seem to find anything about two chipsets or additional drivers.

Any help would be greatly appreciated..
