New build fail

hey guys im new to building pc's and this is my first build. I got everything hooked up and i have no power we tried everything any ideas?

exactly what happens when you press the power button. Does nothing at all happen, do the fans spin momentarily, any lights, sounds . . .do you have a standby light on the motherboard

nothing, and now im paranoid i broke my mobo up putting in the cpu wrong, just took the cpu out and back still nothing not sure if the pins look bent or im just paranoid

this might be a stupid question, but did you remember to connect the power button from the chassis to your mb?

Ya I did I hope I didn't go and screw my mobo up putting the CPU in wrong I know I had it in with the arrow in the right corner, and it seemed in good could I still have bent the pins on the socket?

I will follow the list tomorrow just wondering how many ppl bent pins on there mobo with it sittin the right way.it looks like a whole section of them Rbent but i think I'm just paranoid. Would nothing happen if they were all bent? Oh ya and when I lowered the retention bracket I had to put a half decent amount of pressure is this normal?

I wouldn't worry too much about it. As long as the cpu dropped in place and the heatsink is firm then that part of the pc should be good to go. Problem probably lies in loose ram/cables or cables not plugged in/ in the right place.

i have 4 ram slots and 2 ram cards. It says First in the second and 4th slots so im assuming thats where they go?

Hey Jordan, Sadly I can shed no light on this matter but I just want to say I'm in the same boat, I posted a thread like 2 minutes ago and have resulted in paying someone to fix for me as at least its a fast solution, it's also been 4 months for me, as soon as you find out what the problem is the better. Wish you the best of luck and hope you haven't short circuited anything (at least to costly!)

heres another question all my fan power sockets on my mobo are 4 pins but my my fans are 3 pins they still work right? and does it matter which i plug into like number 1 or 2?

Your fans will be fine. three pin fans work on a 4 pin header. Your RAM is also installed correctly. I have seen bent pins when things are properly installed. It could be an issue, but if the computer would still turn on, just not get anywhere. It would run though.

Check and recheck the 20/24 pin connector is in tight. Then check the CPU 4/8 pin connector.
Make sure the connector from the case is connected to the right motherboard pins for the power switch.

If that fails try to jumper the PSU to see if it works
