Hi everyone,

First, I would like to apologize if I am posting this under the wrong forum. If you have suggestions of where I should post it, I welcome your input.

I am putting together a new build and had a couple of questions regarding my component selection. I game lightly (SC2, CS, LoL, etc...) and I am learning CUDA programming. I am implementing quantum chemistry onto gpus and work from home quite a bit. For this reason, I was looking into SLI (2) Nvidia Geforce GTX 960s. I actually have not built a system since the old p55 chipset in 2009, so everyone's help would be appreciated.

Here is a link to my build:

If you have any suggestions of where I could cut cost, or components that you feel would be better substitutes I would love to hear what you have to say. I did go back and forth between a Z170 build vs a X99, but ultimately decided on the Z170 board. I am trying to stay around 1000 dollars.

Edit:

Yes, I have a corsair HX 750w. I will look into H170 boards!

First, you do not need a Z170 motherboard with a Non K processor. Any H170 motherboard will do you fine, since you will not be overclocking. Youll likely save a few bucks there. Next, do you already have a PSU? I dont see one listed in your parts list. Your memory, you can cut down to 16Gbs to save some cash, 32Gb is not necessary (Im an over achiever so dont mind my build). The SSD I would change to the 850 Evo rather then the 840. Otherwise, everything else looks fine. Good luck!
