Hey there folks,

I really hope that I can get an approve from you guys for this PC specification that I just puzzled together. (I'm not a pro in this type of stuff.)

Firstly, English is not my native language, but I will try to be as clear as I can about the details and what this PC build is for.

I am an architect (building designer, not an IT architect) and would like to get a brand new PC built for 3D modeling and for some gaming, too.

For work I do interior and exterior modeling in 3D Studio Max. I use V-Ray for rendering images. For this I also bought two Samsung LS27A60PUUUXEN screens (FreeSync; Resolution: 2560x1440; Primary Connectors: HDMI, DisplayPort, USB 3.0, USB Type-C, LAN; Refresh Rate: 75 Hz)

When it comes to gaming I mainly play single player FPS games (Dead Space series, Evil Within 1-2, Resident Evil series, Wolfenstein series). For multiplayer I only play World of Tanks.

If you could approve that this setup will be OK for the next - let's say - 5 years it would be very much appreciated! :)

Here's the specification:

Motherboard: Asus TUF Gaming Z790-Plus

CPU: Intel Core i5-13600K

CPU Fan: Be Quiet! - DARK ROCK PRO 4 - BK022

Memory: DDR5 KINGSTON FURY Renegade 6000MHz 64GB - (2x32 GB) (I know this amount is "a bit" overkill, but it is for the 3D work.)

GPU: Gigabyte RTX4070TI - EAGLE OC 12G

SSD: Samsung 970 Evo Plus 2TB

HDD: Seagate - IronWolf 6TB

Power Supply: Asus - ROG-STRIX-850G

Case: Be Quiet! - Pure Base 600 - BGW21

Optical Drive: ASUS DRW-24D5MT/BLK/B/AS

Thank you in advance for the answers peeps! :)

Regards,
Tom

PCPartPicker shows your system adds up to 654W. You're gonna need a bigger power supply. I would say 850W minimum (to give some headroom), 1000W would be better.

Also, the 970 Evo Plus is only PCIe 3.0. Now, the difference in speed is somewhat negligible in real-world performance vs PCIe 4.0, and the 980 Pro had a bad rep for failing drives recently. So, choose whichever you prefer, just be aware the differences.

@JamesMcKinnon solid build ^^ If you were located in the US I would make these changes.

Same here. PSU is one component you don't want to skimp on.

Hey guys,

Thanks for the suggestions! :)

So...I have made a few changes after the recommendations and some deep investigation about some elements.

Firstly, I ditched the optical drive. I barely use it. TBH I don't use it at all. :D

I changed the case, too. I think a more airflow oriented case is always better. I don't want to get cheap on that either.

I changed the CPU for a Intel Core i7-13700KF that most of you guys recommended for rendering.

I also changed the PSU for a 1000 W one. At first for an Asus - ROG-STRIX-1000. After some researching I have found out that semi-passive PSUs are not the best some of the times, so I changed it for an active one.

Here's the modified specification:
Motherboard: Asus TUF Gaming Z790-Plus

CPU: Intel Core i7-13700KF (I don't think I need the iGPU which is in the normal "K" version.)

CPU Fan: Be Quiet! - DARK ROCK PRO 4 - BK022

Memory: DDR5 KINGSTON FURY Renegade 6000MHz 64GB - (2x32 GB)

GPU: Gigabyte RTX4070TI - EAGLE OC 12G

SSD: Samsung 970 Evo Plus 2TB

HDD: Seagate - IronWolf 6TB

Power Supply: Be Quiet! - PURE POWER 12 M 1000W

Case: Be Quiet! - Silent Base 802

Now I'm only concerned about he CPU fan. As far as I searched it's going to be enough. (I don't want to overclock the i7 at all.)

Thanks again! :)
