Just out of curiosity, why not an i7 2600k? just wondering.

because i7 2600k has no significant advantage over i5 2500k in gaming... while being $95 expensive than the latter... so why pay more for nothing? i7 2600k is better suited for heavily multi-threaded task and thats outside of gaming scope....
