New build for BF3

Time for a new rig to run BF3 and I'm trying to keep it close to or under $2000. I'm looking to get this done before BF3 is out and so I'm cutting it close. The other option is to go with a site like ibuypower.com. Anyone have any luck with that site and is it even any cheaper than building my own from newegg? So far I've decided to go with (but have not yet purchased):

I'm gonna go with a SSD drive for the games and OS and supplement it with a big disc drive.

Any suggestions? Thoughts? Changes to make on this build?
Is this overkill for BF3? I'd like this build to last me a while since I've been doing mostly console gaming and I'm looking to get back into the PC scene.


Also what other parts would you guys recommend in terms of:

Motherboard
SSD drive
RAM
Case
CPU cooling
Monitor (21-24")
Sound card
Gaming Mouse/keyboard

That 3GB card you have is meant for multiple monitors/super high resolution. That card actually gets lower FPS in lower resolutions due to RAM latency. As far as the 2600K vs 2500K, the hyper threaded 2600K gives no advantage to gaming. It's only advantage is for proggys' that utilize hyper threading. I would also skip the sound card seeing how your most likely going to be satisfied with the onboard sound that comes with these boards.

Totally agree with Why_me . The second build with dual 560 would outperform single 580 build, though you could make an SLI 580 build for very little over 2k, or just get the single 580 build, and get a 580 later on (when they get cheaper).

BTW, really nice builds. About the sound card, it pretty much depends if you are an audio freak or not. If you like power-hungry headphones, then, Asus Xonar Essence ST is the choice. Otherwise, skip it. For gaming or low ohm headphones, you don't need a soundcard.
