New Build for cheap

I am building a computer for my parents as a Christmas present and would like to know if you guys think this would be decent for the money. I already purchased the case, psu, and dvd drive. I will not include OS but it will be windows 7.

Also, do you think I should wait to buy the rest later if there are better deals on better hardware?

It's a pretty good build, like the case selection and mobo. The only thing I would change is the CPU. Upgrade to the X4 965 for about $10 more. And that is a pretty low wattage build, probably in the low 400s, high 300s. Go with this PSU.

What will your parents be doing with the computer? Will they be gaming or just internet, email, and applications (i.e.Word,Adobe, etc.)?

If they won't be gaming, I would suggest getting a new AMD Trinity APU or even an i3. The on-chip graphics would be more than enough.

Otherwise, if they will be doing some gaming (hard-core games, not games on Yahoo or Facebook) then your setup should be fine. Although I like Poltregeist's suggestions.

I second this decision, but if they are gaming, then I would recommend the HD7770 over the 550Ti.

Thanks for the suggestions, I will be going with a different cpu (probably a phenom II x4 of some kind), and I might wait to see what graphics cards go on sale in the near-future.

I think for now I will buy the motherboard and RAM I listed but wait on the other stuff and look around a bit more.

Well if your planning on getting it on Black Friday/Cyber Monday you won't save much. I would say about $50 at the most. The discounts are small and on not so popular products. Those guys at Newegg are cheap
