Hi,
I plan on building a computer within the next month. I would like to get your input on the upgraded build and if the parts I have chosen will work together or if should just build a new computer. I have a computer that I would like to take certain parts from to make a new computer for my self and put in new parts into my old computer for my wife. She doesn’t game so she doesn’t need everything from my computer. I would like to use the parts that she does not need to use for my new build. Thanks in advance.

Approximate Purchase Date: Within the next month

Budget Range: $500-$600 Dollars, closer to $500 would be better

System Usage from Most to Least Important: Video/Audio editing, Light gaming (Overwatch, Hearthstone, Diablo 3)

Are you buying a monitor: NO

Parts to Upgrade: I have Power Supply, HDD, Case

Do you need to buy OS: No

Preferred Website(s) for Parts: cheaper the better, but from a reputable seller

You aren't doing anything right, that's the problem, the whole thing is a disaster.

Best thing to do is like I said leave the original system as is and just build a new PC for yourself because if you even try to do what you are thinking it just won't work with the parts listed.

You don't need liquid cooling in the old system and defiantly not in the new one for what you are using it for.

You need to take that old CM case you where thinking about using and throw it in the dumpster and get a case with good airflow and cable management options.

Not sure why you have a full tower case in the 1st place, that was a mistake, but you do so you are stuck with it so just leave that system alone.

Take your whole budget and put it towards a new system for yourself, that is including a case.

Here is a system that will handle what you want to do, all new machine. The OEM CPU cooler is plenty and they work well.

Take the $600 budget and add $67 to it and you have a complete new machine.

Thanks, I will probably build a new machine. I would like my old machine to display 4k resolution can you make recommendation for a video card?

Any of the newer GPU's will work, a GT 1030 will work fine, just look at the different models to make sure you get the one that fits your needs monitor wise.
