Additional Comments: Software I'm likely to use is Sony Vegas and Pro Tools First. For the gaming, I'm not a big gamer, I don't always buy the most recent games often waiting a year or 2 after its been released. Currently I am playing Football Manager 2017, Out of The Park Baseball 21. But would like to play games such as Red Dead Redemption 2, Assassins Creed (old and recent games), games from the total war series eg. Rome Total War 2, The Sims, I like building games such as roller coaster tycoon, Jurassic Park evolution.

This is the system below. Not bad but I don't like the parts at all. B450 board, That 120mm AIO, 3200MHz RAM. EVGA BQ bronze for a RTX 3070. The good part of this build is obviously getting the RTX 3070 at ~500 USD. And this is why I hate Pre-Built.

And this what you can get for a little bit more money. The issue when you buy the parts for the system below is that you have to buy that RTX 3070 at 900 dollars. It's ridiculous. So nowadays it's buy a pre-built for the good price on the GPU but suffer on the rest of the parts or buy good parts at around the same price but you get destroyed on the GPU so in the end you pay a few more hundreds which could have been used on a better CPU, more RAM etc :S

My mistake. Both are around 950 Pound but you need a monitor so forget my earlier post.

It really is a bad time to buy a system.

If you buy the parts yourself you get screwed up on the GPU.

If you buy a pre-built you have a good price on the GPU but the rest of the parts could be better and not always of quality.

System needs a lot of storage because you do audio stuff and videos stuff.

8 Cores CPU not needed but for productivity stuff it's recommended.

32GB of RAM would be good for that system.

A decent GPU is needed for gaming too.

All of this + a monitor will be very hard to do with that budget especially now.

Normally I would have already pasted a few builds for you but I have been thinking for 10 minutes and I'm like "Wow this is hard these days".

I don't want to tell you to go buy a pre-built but I don't want to make you buy a system where you lose performance just because the GPU is double the MSRP price.

Sony Vegas and Pro Tools First are not demanding programs. You can get by with a 6 core 12 thread CPU, 16GB of system memory [RAM], an RTX 3060Ti, and a high quality 550 watt to 650 watt power supply. 32 inch screens have come down in price and you can get 1080p and 1440p screens at a reasonable price, MSI makes a good one. You can download Windows 10 for free and get a cheap key, YouTube creators that make computer content often have links to them with a discount, like the person in this video: (18) January's 2021 USED PC Parts Hunt - I ACTUALLY GOT GPUS! - YouTube and the link he provides to a key is here: Buy Microsoft Windows 10 Pro OEM CD-KEY GLOBAL from the VIP-Scdkey store (vip-scdkey.com) . I have used several keys and they all work, they are legal.

By the way, I have used Noctua coolers for myself and others for many years, great coolers, the fans are guaranteed for 6 years but will last longer. The smallest I would suggest for up to 8 core 16 thread CPUs is a Noctua NH-U12S, if you want to overclock I would suggest a larger cooler like a Noctua NH-U14S or NH-D15S and a case big enough to house it, a large mid-tower.

Well I got a lot of time off work during March, wanted to build it then when I have the time. To be honest I don't mind buying a pre-built and then maybe upgrade it in the future if I have too. I have been looking on what pcspecialist.co.uk or Overclockers offers, don't know if anything on there is suitable?
