Hi,

I don't do any gaming on my PC but I do like to do a fair bit of Astrophotography which is fairly CPU intensive when processing files. I also like to have a reasonably fast machine for quick application loading etc. Heres what I was thinking about for the build:

  • Intel - Core i7-8700K 3.7GHz 6-Core Processor
Cooler Master - Hyper 212 EVO 82.9 CFM Sleeve Bearing CPU Cooler
Asus - ROG STRIX Z370-F GAMING ATX LGA1151 Motherboard
    G.Skill - Ripjaws V Series 16GB (1 x 16GB) DDR4-3200 Memory (4 of them)
Kingston - Savage 960GB 2.5" Solid State Drive

I already have a case, 1 x Kingson 512 Gig SSD, good power supply and a video card.

Is there anything there that will be a waste for me and should maybe reduce or change performance wise?

Thanks

i prefer Ryzen (im not not sure you overclock or not)

CPU: Ryzen 7 1700
Cooler: Stock cooler
M/B: any B350 up to you
Ram: not sure ( ryzen a bit tricky about bus of Ram)

or if you are not OC

CPU: i7 8700
MB: any z370 you like ( or one with lots of SATA port ) z370 pro4 is cheapest in my region
Ram: same

i hoep this will help you.
