Question New build, freezing, crashing and BSOD during gaming

I am experiencing inconsistent crashes while playing Apex Legends, CoH3 and Baldurs gate 3.

All drivers are up to date and I'm running Windows 11 Home N. I ran memtest 86 and got 3 errors but after reseating the RAM got two consecutive passes.

My Event viewer reports 'volmger' error before each crash but I haven't found a consistent solution to this.

Some solutions have included

1. New motherboard
2. Move the SSD to a new slot or buy new SSD
3. Downgrade to Win 10

Can anyone offer some guidance?

Can you try to swap out the RAM? Are you sure they are in the correct slots?

Download/Run memtest86; it's the easiest test to run and the most likely to find a definitive fault.

I have done this and it has passed twice in the last two tests.
Would Memtest check the SSD also or just the RAM?

Just RAM. Note its generally preferred to test one stick of RAM at a time, but I doubt an outright failed stick would pass even if they were all tested at once.
