I’m a little lost here. I just built myself a new PC but it keeps giving me “hard hangs”, forcing me to frequently reboot. It had given me a couple BSOD and random reboots which I was trying to fix but has since evolved into simply hanging once every several minutes. It’s been pretty frustrating and I need to get this up and running so I can start plugging away at the schoolwork that’s starting to pile up. Any advice would be appreciated.

System specs:
ASUS WS Z390 Pro (updated BIOS)
Samsung 970 EVO plus M.2 hard drive
Intel I9-9900K CPU (no overclock)
G.Skill TridentZ 32GB (2x16) RAM (hangs with or without XMP profile loaded)
Corsair h150 CPU cooler
Seasonic 850W power supply
Geforce 2080 RTX
Windows 10 Academic (successfully fully updated)

So far...
All drivers verified and up to date
Sfc/ scannow shows no integrity violations
Memory test shows no errors in either the windows memory testing utility or memtest
Intel processor diagnostic tool showed no issues with the CPU
Check disk shows no errors on either my main drive or my storage drives

Solution
Eliminate some variables:

-Does the system do this behavior in a clean boot environment? Does it do it in safe mode?

-New Windows install or drive taken from working system and simply plugged in?

-Manufacturer drivers installed or running with Microsoft default drivers?

-Is your cooler and pump working, and blowing hot air up and OUT of the case? All system fans running?
Sufficient system fans present and clear airflow paths?

-Disconnect all drives that aren't your system drive.

-Pull the graphics card and run on internal graphics

-Pull one stick of memory, alternate them to see if a difference.

-Does the system hang just sitting at a BIOS screen?

It has not happened in BIOS, though since it takes several minutes and some activity for it to happen I can’t be entirely sure.

Switched RAM works the exact same way.

All fans and CPU cooler up and running fine, and every utility used to measure temps falls within normal ranges.

Does not crash with either onboard graphics OR in safe mode, so so far it’s looking to be a GPU or GPU driver issue... I'll try uninstalling everything to do with the card including all utilities and just reinstall the driver to see if that works.

Thanks!
