[SOLVED] New build, GPU on but no display

I just build my first pc and when I turn it on everything works fine, the cpu fan is on, GPU fan is on but no display input.

Pc specs :
asrock 880gmh/u3s3 motherboard
Rx 470 4GB Sapphire
12 GB of ram
Thermaltake PSU 500W

The thing is, I tried booting the pc without the GPU and it worked. I can get into bios but when I install the GPU I get no display input.

Note: I'm using a VGA cable (I didn't buy a HDMI monitor yet) plugged in the motherboard port. If I would get an HDMI monitor and plug it into the GPU will it work?

Anyways, any solutions? Is something broken or it can be tweaked from the settings?

" If I would get an HDMI monitor and plug it into the GPU will it work?"
Yes, when graphics card installed, you have to connect the monitor to it. The onboard is disabled in BIOS.

Yes, I assured the power connector to be well connected. I tried a couple ot times to reconnect but same results. Also the GPU fans worked so I think it has power

Kinda makes sense. I will try with an HDMI cable as soon as I can get one and a HDMI compatible display
