This is where I am at so far, looking to make it better from advice from others, Same price range but better. Im willing to change anything.

Its for a htpc as well s gaming and being my main house server for media etc.

Please help

Thanks

Would say u dont need 32gb, but keep it, its k within the range, only thing i would change there would be the PSU, u can get some at 100dollars from XFX that are very good, u dont need a platinum 80+ one, they are very expensive, same goes for the dvd writer, unless u really have alot of blue ray dvds just get a normal instead, adn put all the money u saved towards an SSD for boot drive/important programs 😛

vid cards i have no clue about, ive been reading stuff, i playing at 1080p yes.

im trying for a 2k budget apx

Here is a way better build. The reason for the two case fans is to switch out the fans on the h100i because they are many reviews saying that it is somewhat loud. Those fans you can put somewhere else on the case if you want to. You dont need 16gb like mentioned by portuguese. Also the xfx psu is a really good quality psu plus they arent that expensive. PNY doesnt make the best nvidia graphics card. They are better at amd graphic cards. Don't know why you have a blu-ray drive cause you dont really need it.

im sticking with the case i picked, its going to be in with all my components in my rack. i dont like towers, neeeds to be more desktop or htpc style, this is the best i could find that has a similar look and lots of space

Here you go. A way better build. The 2 af120 fans are to switch out for the corsair h100i fans. There have been many reviews saying that the fans are not that quiet. So the af120 are a good replacement. You can put the other 2 fans that come with the h100i around the case anywhere. You dont need ddr3 2133. The 1600 is equivalent to 1866 and 2133. The 780ti is better then the 780 and its not that loud because of the asus direct coII The power supply is made by the best psu company, SeaSonic. The corsair ax series are actually made my seasonic and then name branded afterwards. I removed the blu ray drive beacuase you dont really need it. Same case as yours. The best build for your money.

ok so why the asrock over the asus maximus formula mobo

and

what about runing a sli combo? cheaper/better then a 780?

NO, do not run two lower end cards in sli. It will be ALOT more trouble. It is always better to get a single more powerful card. Stick with the 780.

The formula is for more HIGH HIGH end budget builds and HIGH HIGH overclocking. The asrock extreme 6 is a good motherboard, includes another usb tray if you need it. Yeah if you have the budget, get two 780 instead of 780ti. Otherwise, if you dont have the extra money, stay with my 780ti build. Its better than the 780 http://gpuboss.com/gpus/GeForce-GTX-780-Ti-vs-GeForce-GTX-780 And tiny voices, you mean stick with the 780ti my build includes the 780ti
