I have a budget of around $2,000 and I have some preferences. I would like to fit in a VR headset into this budget, however I do not know if the oculus or the vive is better :/. Also I do not mind a prebuilt as long as it is a good deal, and i wont lose too much to pre-built markup. Any help would be appreciated, THANKS!

Many pre-built systems (from major brands) are seriously lacking in the video card department.
There are some gaming brands that know what video cards gamers want in their PC's.
IBUYPOWER
Falcon Northwest
CyberPower
MSI

Since the price of the Vive Pro is so high (expected to be $799) I recommend the Oculus Rift.

This one has a prior gen CPU, with no SSD and less storage but a lower price.

Couldn't fully fit the Oculus without major drawbacks. Major drawbacks being no SSD or a lower CPU.

Question from 1728danny : "I have a budget of around 2G for a system, how should I spend It?"

My budget for a new system / peripherals is roughly 2 grand, how should I spend this money? I would like a PC that can last a while without being upgraded. Help me out, and go wild.

None are necessary, but if there are any good ones on sale or something, that would be cool. But none are NEEDED.

I really don't know how to really navigate or ask questions on this forum, just using it for people to help me :/ sorry if I was spamming, didn't realize that was a thing.

bad time to buy/build a pc. the price of graphics cards is insane right now thanks to crypto-miners. IF you can even find them. all the top end graphics cards available right now are going for 2 to 3 times their MSRP.

I'd shelve plans for a few months. RYZEN2 is coming out in march, and Nvidia's Volta is coming out in Q2 sometime, I would sit back and wait for the crypto-mining craze to burn out a bit, and graphics cards become available again.
