As on rookie to another, it looks like everything does check out OK. Pretty slick selection. However, I would look into combo deals as you may be able to find a CPU / MOBO in a combo that might save you 15-50$. Good luck on the build!

Edit : it seems that the 1TB seagate is out of stock.
2º : for a 7850 550w will be enough, and you save some bucks.
3º : dont recommend that ram with the low voltage, buy this or other at the same price.

I would not mess with low voltage RAM on any Ivy Bridge build - you will need 1.5V, otherwise that system looks pretty good.

The QVL is just a guideline - not all manufacturers have the time to test every part out there so you won't see every part listed. As long as it meets the recommended specifications (1.5V RAM, DDR3 1600, etc), you should be able to use anything that meets those requirements.

On another note, I am trying to save some money on this build. Will I see a big difference between HD 7770 and 7850 in terms of gameplay on games like Battlefield 3?
I know the 7770 has VRAM of 1gb and the 7850 has 2gb, but I think that the 7770 is pretty cheap for its performance.

That depends on what kind of monitor you get. A low resolution monitor (1440 x 900 for instance) won't require a large amount of VRAM. A 1920 x 1200 monitor on the other hand, or if you're using more than one display, will.

I plan on getting a new video card in a few months, I just need something that can play games on ultra or high until then.

The 7770 might struggle with 1080p but the 7850 will handle it with no sweat.
