As on rookie to another, it looks like everything does check out OK. Pretty slick selection. However, I would look into combo deals as you may be able to find a CPU / MOBO in a combo that might save you 15-50$. Good luck on the build!

Thank you for the information, but I don't see the RAM you listed on the support site for the motherboard I have selected.

The QVL is just a guideline - not all manufacturers have the time to test every part out there so you won't see every part listed. As long as it meets the recommended specifications (1.5V RAM, DDR3 1600, etc), you should be able to use anything that meets those requirements.

Ok, thanks for the recommendation. :)

On another note, I am trying to save some money on this build. Will I see a big difference between HD 7770 and 7850 in terms of gameplay on games like Battlefield 3?
I know the 7770 has VRAM of 1gb and the 7850 has 2gb, but I think that the 7770 is pretty cheap for its performance.

I found this one..it is almost $80 cheaper

That depends on what kind of monitor you get. A low resolution monitor (1440 x 900 for instance) won't require a large amount of VRAM. A 1920 x 1200 monitor on the other hand, or if you're using more than one display, will.

My monitor is 1920 x 1080 at default. I can definitely live with a resolution of less than that. (Say, 1280 x 1024).

I plan on getting a new video card in a few months, I just need something that can play games on ultra or high until then.
(Games like Borderlands 2, Battlefield 3, and Skyrim.)

The 7770 might struggle with 1080p but the 7850 will handle it with no sweat.
