Hey everyone. I am sort of at an impasse right now whether to build or buy premade, as the parts that I selected will cost just about as much as buying a premade PC.

Approximate Purchase Date: Within the next week.

Budget Range: (e.g.: 600-800): $1500-$1800

System Usage from Most to Least Important: Gaming (Rift, WoW, CoD,)

Parts Not Required: Monitors, Keyboard, Mouse, Computer Case

Preferred Website(s) for Parts: Newegg

Country of Origin: USA

Parts Preferences: I would like to use a Z68 chipset mobo, Intel CPU

Overclocking: Maybe

SLI or Crossfire: Maybe

Monitor Resolution: 1980x1011 1080p

Additional Comments: I would like to know if my build is better or worse than the prebuilt machine linked at the bottom.
Thanks!

A few SATA cables and some Arctic Silver for around $20.00 Total Price: $1524.86

Alternatively, I could buy this premade system: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16883229267 for around the same price and it seems to have all the parts that I want, minus the slower RAM, which can be easily replaced. The premade system has a water cooled 2600K, a blue ray drive, and a TWO TB HDD, for $1529.00.

So, which would you guys do, build, or buy premade? Also, how is my build? Please comment. Thanks!!!

^You should know that they are using a mATX board so adding 1 more GTX 570 will block rest of the slots,... Also I dont think you will get full warranty for the parts,(like HDD 3 years, GPU - Lifetime limited,...)

Here is a build,...

Good catch gkay09!
There is no mention of the psu used either. Is it a quality psu of what wattage?

Unless budget is not an issue, the 2600K is not the most cost effective pick for a gamer.
The 2500K will os just as high, and the hyperthreading value is not much since few games use more than three cores.
The extra $100 spent would let you get a GTX580 which would help performance much more.

A GTX580 needs 600w with 42a on the 12v rails plus one 6-pin and one 8-pin PCI-E power lead.

A psu much stronger than that is planning for sli. But, are you likely to need More than a GTX580 at 1080P?
Not likely, I think. Even then there will be new 28nm cards out at the end of the year. At that time, you could just sell the GTX580 and replace it with the next best thing. A replacement upgrade strategy saves you up front on the psu, and motherboard.

If you have the budget, consider a SSD for the os and some games. It will make everthing much faster.

Thank you for this. I bought all the parts and completed the build yesterday. This system is all I ever could have hoped for and thank you for your guidance.
