I posted here for my first build, 5 years ago. I was very happy with the build and it's still running strong. I feel like a change so I'm hoping that I can get some more advice. I haven't upgraded at all, so looking to do a completely new build rather than use anything from my current set up.
Budget: Hopefully 90,000-100,000 yen (around US $900- $1000)
Parts Not Required: I can live with my current monitor, keyboard, and mouse for now but need everything else including OS and a new case. I don't think the budget will stretch to a monitor, so I'll get that in a month or two.
Country of Origin: Japan
Preferred Website(s) for Parts: I’m planning on buying pretty much everything from Japanese online stores
Parts Preferences/intended use: I was looking at Intel i5 6500 with GTX 1070 and a small-ish case. Want something that will run most games comfortably (don't need maxed out settings in AAA titles or anything like that though) and will use the PC for everyday surfing, video streaming, etc. I am not planning on overclocking.
Additional Comments:
-I'm quite happy to just use a recommended build I find online, but often the parts available to me vary considerably in price compared to US or European suppliers. I'd like to use one of the recommended builds as a basis and get some help finding alternative parts.
-I have a full size tower at the moment, but would like to downsize.
-I based the parts below on the Best Build Sept 2016 "Broken Flames" and replaced some parts that were difficult to find or more expensive.(http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/best-pc-builds,4390.html)
CPU: i5-6500 ¥20,791
RAM: Corsair Vengeance LPX DDR4 2666MHz 16GB (2x8GB) ¥8,136
HDD:HDD: Western Digital 1TB Blue WD10EZEX ¥5,000
SSD: ADATA Premier SP550 Solid State Drive ASP550SS3-240GM-C ¥6,980
GPU: Gigabyte GeForce GTX 1070 G1 GAMING ¥47,980
Case: Enthoo EVOLV ITX PH-ES215P_BK ¥11,000
PSU: NeoECO Classic NE650C ¥6,110
MOBO: Gigabyte GA-Z170N-Gaming 5 18,980
Total: around 107,000 (or about 1,070 US$) - I'm rounding to $1=100 yen
I've used this price comparison site (http://kakaku.com/pc/) for the prices and took the lowest one, so I might need to add a little to the total to take into account postage/price changes.
There are pages for components with sales rankings and filters for searching for specific parts/specs. Here's the PSU page as an example - http://kakaku.com/pc/power-supply/
Questions/Requests
Anything that isn't compatible or won't fit in the case?
I dropped the power supply by 100W from the recommended build, will it still be okay?
Based on prices/parts available on the site I listed, can you see any way to save money or improve the build without adding too much more?
I know the Z170 chip motherboard isn't necessary if I'm not overclocking, but the H110 and H170 chip cards I found didn't have great reviews. Happy to switch that out if there is a good one though.
Thanks for taking the time to read. Any suggested changes would be great.
