Just put together new build and everything works until I put in the GPU then there is no display.

Device manager's display adapters only shows integrated graphics in operation, no sign of other drivers.

Tried secondary ports for GPU and resetting the CMOS multiple times, all to no avail. Power still comes to the case, fans and peripherals get power also and GPU fans spin. RAM in slots 2&4 as requested by mobo manual.

I should also state that the 8 pin power is connected to the mobo and the 6+2 and a separate 6 pin are attached to the GPU.

Reading online everything seems compatible, I'm really stuck for what to do next, help!

When I plug monitor directly into mobo without GPU everything works, literally everything...I just want to get the GPU operational and it won't give me any signal to work with, even though both fans (on the GPU) are turning.

When I put in GPU even if I run display directly into mobo I still get no signal.

double check the power cables for gpu.:)

Double checked everything, all cables clipped in with no give :/ off to an friends to check how it holds up in their rig. Any other suggestions would be great, I'll update when back.

Should be a simple fix: You need to tell your PC to use the GPU instead of the integrated intel graphics.
1) Boot in safe mode
2) Go to device manager and click 'Display adapters'
3) Right click 'Intel(R) HD Graphics' and click 'Disable' (but do not uninstall it)
4) Shutdown your PC and plug in GPU
5) Reboot and install drivers

Hope this helped 😀

Amazingly it was none of these suggestions but something far more curious. Initially I believe the monitor: Dell U2312HM was not able to receive the input from the GPU hence no signal. At my friends we checked the GPU in his rig and it worked. When I tested my GPU my rig, for trial and error sake, it worked.

From there I installed the drivers and got back, tested it on the dell and it worked...for about half an hour... The PC went to sleep whilst I was doing chores and when I tried to wake it I got nothing, though peripherals were still powered on. What was particularly weird is that shaking the mouse and media functionality completely disappeared.

I realise now this was probably a password screen and hence my music would not play (I have buttons to play on G35 headset and x4 sidewinder). Anyone care to take a guess why this happens other than a bad compatibility of monitor with PC? On restart I received no picture for the Dell so changed to Hannspree TV and working fine through connection with GPU.

Thank you everyone for their efforts everything was running fantastically well...until I had to cold boot it this morning.

Now it appears that neither display is getting a signal and even resetting the CMOS is not responding. I assume the only fix I currently have is to re sit the GPU again but I don't want to be doing this every morning! Any theories?

I should state now that the drivers are installed correctly and it was running Bioshock infinite on ultra very smoothly so everything seems to be in order otherwise.
