I just built my friend a new computer. It posts, goes to the bios and everything.. It just randomly shuts off, either a second after its turned on or in the bios or the middle of win8 installation. My friend accidentally bought a psu from a brand called "sparkle" or SPI or something like that instead of the one by NZXT that I sent him. Is it a faulty psu or it something else?
Specs:
AMD 8320, AMD Radeon 7870, 8 gigs of Ram, 60gb ssd, 1 tb HDD, corsair h60 cooler, Asrock 970 mobo, 700w psu by "sparkle"

Solution
could be the psu... though it just as easily could be overheating or bad ram.

swap out the psu, see if the issue resolves itself.

if it doesn't swap out the ram... see if the issue resolves itself.

if it doesn't, check the temps when you first get into the bios and see what happens with them. frankly it sounds like this is the most likely problem, it's working like the cpu cooler isn't plugged in, or has bad contact.
