I'm building a new system for a friend and when I try and install windows it loads the files, then during the starting windows screen it restarts, and it will continue to do this in a loop if you let it. I have tried using a different windows disk and get the same problem, and I have even tried booting off a linux live usb, and it will restart while loading that too. I have tried using different ram, psu and video card to the same effect, so if it's hardware it looks like I'm down to the cpu or MB. Full disclosure, I did fumble the cpu when I opened the clam shell package (I swear AMDs package designers used to build jack-in-the-boxes or those caned snakes) and it fell and bent some pins. I got them all straight though (none broken) and it seats fine.
System Specs:
MB: Gigabyte GA-970A-D3
CPU: AMD FX-6100
Ram: team xtreem DDR3 1600 4gb x 2
graphics: powercolor HD7850
PSU: Raidmax RX-700ac
Thanks in advance.
