I installed a new motherboard (b450-a pro), CPU (ryzen 5 2600), ram (16 gig gskill) and GPU (1070 ti) but kept my old SSD.
Windows 7 installs successfully from CD but is VERY laggy and blue screens within 5 minutes . I can't even install the motherboard drivers from the disk that came with it because it blue screens before it can install. It even blue screened towards the end of the windows 7 installation.
BIOS runs fine with no lag (in W7 the mouse inputs could lag for 30 seconds before registering).
Okay so maybe its compatibility issues with W7 and my new hardware - so let's try Windows 10!?!
Got windows 10 boot media and am getting the following error when it gets a couple percentage points into the installation step "Getting files ready for installation":
"Windows cannot install required files. The file does not exist. Make sure all files required for installation are available, and restart the installation. Error code: 0x80070002"
I have tried both bootable USB and DVD methods for installing win 10 and get the same error. I made these from the official windows media creation tool from Windows website and they were two separate downloads - unlikely that its a bad ISO?
The W10 installation also feels quite laggy.
Ran 9 passes (21 hours) of memtest with no errors. Any way to troubleshoot other hardware issues?
Can't get drivers without going into the OS and it bluescreens in windows 7 and can't install windows 10.
Any ideas? Its the worst not being able to use my new PC 🙁
