got the other parts from the old system . ( psu etc)

psu is corsair cx 550 m ( grey )
gpu : 1050 ti

the build isn't for me so i am double checking on IF i there is a better choice ( non intel - uk prices are catastrophic!)

Light video editing ( sony vegas ) and live streaming games - but mainly used for gaming

can we do better for the price ? been two years since i last built ! .

Solution
Could do a bit of saving with these changes. 3200 ram is better, but not enough at that price gap. Also this ssd is cheaper, and being M.2 will allow for less cable clutter/better airflow.

i was considering the mx 500 ssd . is m.2 easy to install the operating system on ? i remember there was question marks about that a while ago !

there isn't much of a performance difference between 3200 and 3000 ?

not been keeping up in the last 12 months or so and things move so fast!

I think I would pay the extra money and get the Asus ROG board. My experiences with the Tomahawk were, let's say, underwhelming. The ROG board has been excellent so far and worth the extra money.

Solution

will take that on board :) with the money saved on the ram it makes sense to get the better board :)

thanks for taking the time to read and reply , appreciated :)

Yes I think it would be worth it. The 1700, 1700x, and 1800x are all pretty identical CPUs, the only real difference is the stock clock speeds. They all overclock about the same.
