Computer Type: Desktop
GPU: MSI GTX 1060 6gb, no overclock
CPU: Intel core i5 6500 @ 3.2 GHz, no overclock
Motherboard:MSI B150m Bazooka running latest bios
RAM: Avexir core series DDR4 16gb 2400 MHz but runs at 2133 MHz
PSU: NZXT 550w, modular, 41.25 amps on the 12v rail
Operating System & Version: Windows 10 64 bit, 10.0.14393, clean install
GPU Drivers: No GPU driver able to be installed
Description of Problem: I'm having trouble getting my MSI GTX 1060 6gb to display anything on the monitor. I think I need to RMA it but I wanted to check with the community and see if there's anything I could try that I haven't yet.
Troubleshooting:
• Computer posts and runs normally when the HDMI connector is plugged into the MOBO. Tried both HDMI and DVI from the gpu but the display stays black, no post or anything.
• The MOBO has debug lights that flash on startup and hang if there is a problem. CPU and DRAM both light up and go away but the light hangs on VGA so it's not able to detect the GPU.
• Reseated the GPU and it's in as far as it will go. Tried both PCI-e power connectors and problem still occurs. The card will light up but nothing shows on the display.
• Tried to update mobo bios using M-flash but it doesn't detect a variety of flash drives so I tried using MSI live update 6 and after scanning it says my mobo bios is the latest version.
• Reset bios to default configuration and reset CMOS
• Tried to install geforce experience but it says no nvidia card is detected and same happened when trying to install the nvidia driver.
• Lastly, blew on the PCIe connector and port - no dice
Anything I missed? Thanks in advance for the help!
