Hello all,
I have just built my first PC, the parts list can be found here http://pcpartpicker.com/p/2zGF5 . So here's my problem. I've put my build together, plugged everything in, the whole shebang. Now when I hit the power button I get the cpu fan, the case fans, and the gpu fans spinning nicely, but my monitor is telling me i've got no input. I also have never gotten a POST beep from my motherboard at anytime during the build.
Now heres the twist... my gpu takes two power plugs. When I only attach one plug (larger of the two) and turn on the machine, I get a message saying "attach all PCI-E cords" on the monitor. If I then attach the second cord while the computer is still running, and then reset the machine, I get monitor input and windows starts right up! This process has been replicated three times to make sure it wasn't a fluke. I even installed my OS while it was running.
Why doesn't it display anything when I have both gpu plugs in for startup?! I don't want to have to fiddle with it everytime I power up.
Additional info: Monitor is hooked up to the graphics card through an hdmi and a dvi input, check both everytime I start up. Here is a picture of my mobo and all connections http://i.imgur.com/gRd0TTA.jpg
What i've tried: removed everything, hooked it back up again. Tried my RAM in every slot there is.
Any help you all can give me is greatly appreciated... my brain is fried trying to get this thing to work!
