New Build MSI Gaming 5 z97 - - Random restarts even with low performance tasks

Hello,

I'm currently having a problem with one of my builds and I'm very, very frustrated with it. Hoping someone could help.

PROBLEM: Random crashes. Computer posts, windows 10 (64 bit) runs fine until you ask it to run more than 5 windows and then crashes (no blue screen, either a freeze or restart without warning).

Specs
Mobo: MSI Gaming Z97
Processor: Intel Xeon E3-1231 v 3
PSU: EVGA NEX650G 650 Watt
GPU: NVIDIA GTX 760 WINDFORCE 4GB (Used GeForce Experience for drivers so that it is up-to-date
RAM: Kingston HyperX Fury Black 8GB (2 x 8GB) DDR3-1866 Memory

Windows 10 64 bit

  I have downloaded all the known drivers for all of these.
  
  I have just replaced the PSU to this one, hoping it would fix this
  
  I have reapplied thermal paste.
  
  I have flashed the bios
  
  Used Samsung magician to verify health of SSD
  
  Used previous versions of VGA drivers.
  
  

I have absolutely no knowledge with voltages, maybe a voltage problem?

I am ripping my hair out.

I will let open hardware manager do the talking.

You should be looking at event viewer instead of hardware manager.

It might be your CPU that is acting weird, we all know that Xeon's are for Servers and sometimes when people use a server CPU for gaming it might cause some issues. Are you overclocking? If so, try disabling overclocking. Also look into heat issues that might occur because if that's the case, it might be the problem. Maybe some fans running slower than they should? Look into BIOS - Cpu Fan Speed.

So ultimately, I figured out what it was.

It was the RAM.

I had to readjust the timings or just replace them altogether,

So I just switched them with the RAM from my other computer with a different motherboard.

Both computers now work.

So we weren't much of help, well enjoy your PC and may your FPS be high.

And I should've known.. E3 1231 V3 doesn't support 1866Mhz according to Intel's website.
