Hello

I am building a new system, here is the spesifications:

- Asus Rampage II Extreme, X58
- XFX GeForce GTX 260 896MB
- Intel i7 Quad Processor i7-920
- Kingston DDR3 HyperX T1 1800MHz 3GB
3x1GB DDR3, CL9-9-9-27
- Samsung SpinPoint F1 1TB SATA2
- Cooler Master Stacker 832
- Samsung 24" LCD Syncmaster T240
- Corsair Powersupply 620W

The question is, wich cpu cooler should I choose?

- Noctua NH-U12P
- Scythe Mugen 2

- Stock cooler!?
- other suggestions (must fit socket 1366)

Do you think i will be able to run crysis at max with this system?
Should I choose 32 or 64 bit Xp?

Sorry about the topic name, my english is really not the best (im norwegian).
I have not built the system yet, so its open for any changes.
Please let me know what you think.

Err on 1920 x 1200 enthusiast settings with a single GTX260? No can do man :(

For me the possible candidates would be *at least* a HD4850X2 (now with improved drivers) or GTX285! If budget is a concern get a Phenom 2 platform and hit it where it counts for high end gaming: a behemoth GPU!

okok, thanks alot for the advice. I think I will go for another GPU then.

XFX GeForce GTX 260 896MB PhysX CUDA
PCI-Express 2.0, "BLACK", 2xDVI, HDMI, Core 216, 666Mhz, 55nm

it was this "black edition" i was considering, but if you say it wont be enough I will have to aim higher.

1x EVGA GeForce GTX 295 1792MB

This is alot better than a 260 i assume, and enough for crysis 1920 x 1200 enthusiast settings i hope?

I would like some imput on the choice of CPU cooler and Xp 32 or 64 bit, should i get 64bit and 6gb RAM perhaps.

I can not edit after i submittet it seems, sorry I am new on this forum.

this is also an optional GPU:

XFX Radeon HD 4870X2 2GB GDDR5

EVGA GeForce GTX 295 1792MB vs XFX Radeon HD 4870X2 2GB GDDR5 ?

If money is an issue, another good gpu to look at is the gtx 285. It uses less power and produces less heat than the ati 4870 's, and the gtx 260, yet it runs close to the ati 4870 x2.

gtx 295 > ati 4870 x 2 > gtx 285 > all other video cards.

Thanks alot, much apeciated.

I consider using the Xp32bit i got, but should I perhaps go for Xp64bit, or maybe even vista?

If you plan on gaming, and you can afford it, then Vista 64 bit Home Premium OEM is the only way to go. DX10 is nice! Not to mention it's not limited to reading only 3 gigs of memory like a 32bit os.

Alright, I will go for Vista 64 bit Home Premium OEM, thanks alot.

But i assume the ati 4870 x 2 produce alot heat.
(XFX Radeon HD 4870X2 2GB GDDR5)

I intent to use this case: CM stacker 832 (http://www.coolermaster.com/products/product.php?act=detail&id=17)
And fill it with these Noctua 120mm fans (http://www.noctua.at/main.php?show=productview&products_id=5&lng=en)

its enough space for like 6-8 of those fans i believe, this should cause good enough airflow, or do I have to get a GPU cooler also.
I dont know if the stock cooler is good enough.

Let me know what you think, please.

Edit: another question, do you think a Corsair HX620W is enough for this system or do i have to go for the 750w?
