New Build needs feedback

I am building my dream machine. I am mainly using rig for coding with tons of VM running at the same time, gaming and video editing. I wanted to get your feedback on my purposed build. There are some items at are SET; I can’t change them but feedback would be appreciated.

There's no reason to get the DDR2133, IMO. 1600 or 1866 should be more than adequate. That might free up just enough to jump your 7850 to a 7870. That's all I would change if it were my build.

I'll let someone else jump in on the cooler as I haven't used it, but I'd probably go higher end air over self contained liquid.

There's no reason even to get 1866 - on default settings - all motherboards will run RAM at the lowest speeds it can handle.

I would not purchase a plastic self contained liquid cooler - if you're going to use liquid cooling use the real thing or don't use it at all.

Not sure about your memory speed comment. Motherboards generally run memory at the highest speed that both the MoBo and memory can handle, as determined by the SPD specified by the memory chips. I just don't think you are going to see any boost in application performance. If 1866 is the same price, why not, but definitely don't pay $100 for 16GB at the expense of a better GPU.

I definitely agree there.

But I've heard the opposite though about RAM speeds - generally it's the lowest. You can set it to run at stock speeds with a few clicks in the BIOS but after that is when it causes system instability.

Great feedback. I'll look into getting a better cooling system for my CPU.

I did look at the OCZ but their performance wasn't better then Samsung 840 pro.

Performance is one thing but OCZ gives you a five year warranty where I think Samsung only gives you a two year warranty.

Nope. Samsung gives you a five year warranty too. I am side note; I changed my DDR to upgrade my GPU to MSI 7870 =).
