New build newbie

So I have been looking into building my own pc and from looking at videos online it looks like it’s not as hard as I originally thought.

As I am a noob to this I just wanted to see what people thoughts are on hardware I would need for the setup I want, basically I want to try and build the best 4k setup I can for up to a max of £1000, I will get a 4k monitor a bit after as have a good Samsung one that will suffice temporarily.

Here are a couple of things I have looked at and would be interested to hear what people think

Intel Core i7 4930K
Nvidia GeForce GTX 980
Corsair CMZ16GX3M2A2133C10 Vengeance 16GB (2x8GB) DDR3 2133 MHz

Are the things above overkill? I also appreciate the list above would pretty much be the budget and I haven’t got all the items I need so I guess I would like help to see
1. If my budget is realistic or if there’s other hardware that will do the job
2. All the other things I need to complete the build (cpu cooling, hard drive, case, power supply etc…)

If there has been a topic on this then please point me in the right direction.

Any help is much appreciated.

Dave

The monitor I can wait for, so how much do you think is realistic? as there are several videos around stating that 4k can be done within this price

This is great, thank you for making such an effort, In regards to maxing out settings that wont be a problem as I am sure this would give a more than acceptable output.

I don't recommend using a Xeon on your system, they are not for gaming.
This is my personal recommendation, It's a pretty powerful build and it's still a little bit under your budget ;)
It can get you through almost any game with Very High/Ultra Settings 1080p 60+FPS

While that may be true, An overclocked 4690K will beat a Haswell Xeon E3 in gaming benchs. :)
