new build no display?

So I was having trouble getting the pc to turn on and discovered it was a short with the case so I took it out of the case and it turned on. my hard drive cycles my fans come on. but I have no display and my mouse and keyboard does not come on could I have a faulty mobo?

Cpu: a6-6400k
Mobo: gigabyte f2a55m ds2

could be a bad psu. could be a bad mb

start with clr_cmos
then pull everything off but one stick of ram
try another psu
if none of those works it's probably the mb

so I took out the ram and it did beep from system speaker
The psu worked on another computer I tested
and whats clr_cmos sorry its my first build

It was the ram I guess it was incompatible with the mobo thanks for the help though how can I get the mobo in the case without it shorting out also?

make sure you use spacers... there should be spacers which come with your case to keep the back of the motherboard off the metal mb tray.
