Just assembled this new build yet I am getting no display. When it's powered fans go but nothing happens. Followed most of that stickied checklist to no avail. System speaker is in the mail thought I'd ask here in the meantime.
Mobo: 990fxa-ud5 r5
Cpu: Amd FX 8320
Gpu: MSI r9 280
PSU: corsair CX 750
Ram: nanya2gb x2 + hynix4gb x2

I've tried with a HDD and ssd and both.
Any thoughts would be appreciated, thanks in advance.

Well the motherboard does not have any on board video solution on it.

The first thing is to check that all the power required to the motherboard is fitted from the Psu of the system.

1. The 24 pin Atx power block.
2. The eight pin 12v EPS from the Psu is also connected to the 990fxa-ud5 r5 motherboard.
3. That all of the required 12v Pci-e power connectors from the PSU are connected to your R9 280 graphics card.

You should also look in the motherboard manual as it will state what memory slots on the motherboard in a set order the two memory sticks you have should be placed in.

If you place memory sticks in the wrong order of the memory slots it will prevent a motherboard from posting.

How are you connecting the R9 280 cards video output to the monitor. Dvi to Dvi, or are you using a display port video lead, or a Hdmi cable ?

I've tried moving the memory sticks around but it changed nothing. I've also tried multiple dvi to dvi cables; should I try a different type?
