This is my build here.

I've been saving for about 9 months trying to get enough money to buy this build. Yesderday all the parts finally arrived. First thing I did was I installed the CPU into the motherboard, then installed the heat sink, then the ram, and finally the graphics card. I hooked up the PSU to the main power, the CPU power and the graphics card. Following this I hooked up my HDMI cable to my monitor, powered everything on and... no signal. The fans are all spinning, LEDs light up, but no signal. I've hooked up the 2 alternate DIV and the VGA (I think that's what they're called ) but still to no avail. I've tried everything I know, including using 1 stick of ram, using different monitors, different cables and taking out the graphics card. Is there anything anyone can do to help me troubleshoot what's the problem? I've been going after this for about 5 hours now and with o success. Thanks for any and all responses

you said up top '' LEDs light up'' what leds?? the ones for a failure of that part of the board seemed like my ''last'' asus had 3 one for the memory one for the sb and one for the vga. if there was a issue at one of them points the led for that would light up

Did you try the onboard gpu, if so then the gpu is not at fault here.
I have a similar problem at the moment, but my guess is that the cpu, gpu or psu are at fault here.
Try removing the cpu, maybe using another psu, since both these components can cause this issue, as well as the mobo.
Also, if possible, try another compatible cpu, just in case.

all vga's should work default with out drivers to the bios on a properly working system .. first I would check the monitor and all its connections .. then I would try the on chip to see it it will display the bios and if so go make the changes it needs to use a card and move on form there

Well I've tried it on different monitors, tried really everything I can think of. I can't even get to bios no matter what I my fans are working so I don't think the psu is at fault. I suspect I either have a problem with the CPU or the motherboard. Any advice anyone can give me? I can't use a different t motherboard or cpu as this is my first build, and I don't have any friends with computers o could swap parts with.

I have lots of advice, but it's all documented in the troubleshooting checklist I mentioned above. Have you performed EVERY step in the checklist? DOA parts are rare, but do happen occasionally. CPUs VERY rarely are bad out of the box. If it really comes down to a faulty part and you've narrowed it down to either the CPU or motherboard then it's likely the motherboard.

Yeah Ibe ordered a speaker as my computer didn't come with one, so that should be here in a week. Really, I don't see anything I could have done wrong here, and I've tried most everything on your list, but still, nothing. It's really disheartening to see that there's really nothing i can do but sit here and wait for that speaker to arrive. Thanks for all the help anyway.

you don't have a local shop or a best buy that you can take the card to and have them check it out ?? with out back up parts its hard to pinpoint things .. like if the card works for them with out issues then you kinda got to look at psu or board .. the thing to me is why the onchip intel graphics is not working
