Hello all,
I recently built a new computer using an MSI A78M-E35 with an AMD A4-7300 and Crucial Ballistix Sport XT 8GB Single DDR3 RAM. The build went fine, I didn't realize I couldn't use my old DVD drive because the mobo only has SATA plugs, anyway, I tried booting up after the peripherals were plugged in and No signal was detected from the monitor but the computer was running, no beeps. I realized that I didn't have power plugged into the CPU power plug so after I plugged that in I turned it on while it was plugged in with hdmi to my TV and I got a signal, which was a screen telling me the settings were too high for the monitor and to press a key to continue, After that I set the computer aside and today installed my new video card and tried again, with no signal, now I've spent the day reading forums all over the Internet to no avail.

I've removed the video card, unplugged the HD, reset the CMOS battery, and the CMOS pins, removed RAM and heard beeps, and through all this have maintained proper ESD protection. I have no optical drive, and no OS installed. What am I missing? I've followed the various trouble shooting guides here and elsewhere. Thanks in advance for your help!

Yeah, I've removed everything and bread boarded the system. I had it working at one point, it prompted me to press a key to reset the settings to be good for the monitor, I can't remember what keys it was. I saw someone else post the keys on here in another post, and now I can't find that post. I've tried F2 alone and in combination with ctrl, alt, shift etc.

I've tried it on a regular computer monitor with the blue cable and a tv/monitor with hdmi, as well as a tv with hdmi, the just a tv worked with that prompt, tried again later and it didn't show any signal. Another site told me it could be the ram, it's not on the approved list for my mobo, but my concern is that it worked and now it doesn't. When it worked it came up with a no boot device, because I don't have a SATA optical drive yet, so I turned it off and was going to wait for a drive, then I got antsy and figured out how to make a bootable use drive and wanted to try again, I should've left it on when it worked and figured out the usb stick and installed an OS.

Hope that gives you what you're looking for, which is what? Let me know if you need a better one of the mobo.

(as I posted this, I can't see the pictures, but they are there in the text of my message to you.)

I don't know what that other cable in the very top right is for, there was no place on the board with the spacing of the pins similar to it. It's from the front panel cables that is part of the case. Also, I went to PCpartspicker and chose my setup and it didn't give me any incompatablilty warnings, I'm not sure how much that counts for, but it's something.

Ok, So I connected with a VGA cable again and it works with my tv/monitor I'm installing Ubuntu now and will install Windows later. Hopefully I can enable HDMI soon, and then install my graphics card. Thanks for the troubleshooting help!
