Hello everyone, recently, I decided to build my own computer, but the first time we did it, the computer didnt boot at all.
We later on decided to rebuild it, and that booted the computer, but the display wasn't working.
It seems that it was the ram being too loose.
So we rebuilt it, and then it booted completely fine, only problem was the USB ports, I couldn't plug in a keyboard.
So my sister decided to work around with the cables, and now it doesnt work at all.
we rebuilt it from scratch again and it still doesn't work.
I believe the pins on the motherboard might be broken, since the motherboard is supplying power to the GPU and the motherboard has a green light that's working.
My specs are:
MOBO: h81m-plus
Case: Corsair spec-01
GPU: GTX 960 4gb strix
CPU: G3258
PSU: EVGA 500W non modular
Ram: Crucial ballistix sports 2x4 8GB
Hard drive: Seagate barracuda
And just using some cheap "Gaming" motherboard, its called E-blue combatant, doubt you know about it though since its a really cheap membrane keyboard.
Also something to note, my sister was dumb enough to bend some pins to fit the usb 3 cable in because she was too weak to put it in.
Please help, I'm desperate here!
So the main problem is, the computer doesn't boot when I press power but it did before.
And the USB doesnt work either.

Solution

thanks man, I'll check it out, if nothing works, what do you think is broken?
Pins on the motherboard?
The motherboard is lighting green so...

Just because it has a green light does not mean its working properly, does that motherboard have a BIOS speaker so you can hear any beep codes it may be throwing? If nothing on that list works I would assume its the motherboard, check the socket pins carefully use a magnifying glass or something, if you broke some pins its unlikely the motherboard will ever work again sorry to say.

I don't know much about this motherboard, it is a H80 model so its pretty cheap and I'm somewhat prepared to pay for a motherboard.
Dont know if it beeps, my GPU is being powered, because it's lighting up.
And earlier yesterday, everything was booted, fans, CPU, everything.
I even plugged it into a monitor and it worked.
However, like said earlier, my USB didnt work probably because of the bent pins my sister did.
Is the h80 models supposed to do a beep sound?

It may not have a built in speaker in that case you will need a speaker like l linked below to hear the beep codes. The only thing your graphics card lighting up or fans spinning tells me is that your power supply probably works, even if a part of the motherboard is broken it can still probably power on some stuff. I dont know if the scratch would cause this, i would imagine it would have to be pretty serious scratch to permanently damage the mobo you would have had to have taken out a trace or something.(traces are the little zig zagging lines you see running all over the PCB of the motherboard)

Read through the manual, and seems like I removed ALL the jumpers, does that effect the booting process?
it worked before when I removed 2 of the MB jumpers and we later on removed the third one, and thats when it all stopped working.
Or can it be the pins?
What do you think?

Why on earth would you be removing the jumpers and not putting them back? lol. If you took off the CMOS jumper and didn't put it back on that could most certainly be why you are not booting.

Solution

Stupid motherboard makes it look like its supposed to be removed.
if I dont put them back soon, does that mean the mobo will break?
I removed 3 jumpers, USB and cmos.
Found the CMOS, but is it too late?

Yeah found the Cmos one, I think.
They all fit in the cmos right?
I put one in the cmos and I'm trying to find the other ones.

Thanks so much man, a real life saver, I put in the CMOS jumper, now it boots but the usb jumpers are missing.
One last question man, do I need to buy a new mobo if I dont find them, or just jumpers?
Thanks again.

Also now it says Enter Setup to recover bios settings.
One thing after another eh? 😛
Any clues on this?
stuff is brand new and people say that the CMOS battery is drained.
Could it be it got drained because we tried to boot it without the jumpers being in?

Already put a jumper on the CMOS thing though.
I can show you pictures of the monitor if needed

Oh you are seeing an error that says you need a new battery?

Well, no.
It says Enter SETUP to recover BIOS setting.
Googled a bit and people say the CMOS battery is drained.
