Hey guys. I have never seen this before. The system boots up. I'm able to get the loading screen for the windows install off of the optical drive. Then it suddenly shuts off. now I am unable to start the system. The power light on the gpu is on. But the power button light is off. When you press the power button there is no response.

I have reassessed the connections for the power light, reset sw and etc.

Any help is appreciated.

Solution
dont try to load windows--go straight to bios and check cpu temp if you get it to start

to try to restart it--disconnect mains power and 24 pin motherboard plug--press on/off button couple of times

plug back in mains and 24 pin---then see if it starts

yeah--i wasnt ruling out the psu--but first thing i always do on a new build or new cpu heatsink is straight in the bios to see temps are ok before installing windows etc

just seemed like cpu overheating might be the reason--especially if never installed a closed loop cooler before

yeah thats why i suggested

plug back in mains and 24 pin---then see if it starts

my asus board sometimes refuses to start and that always cures it

off out shortly but maybe they will reply before then

Ya. So the computer is unresponsive. If you push the power button. No response. it isn't a heat issue. It wasn't running long enough for that and after letting it sit for the night it is still unresponsive. I would anticipate the fans to spin at least if it was that.

That is a good PS, do you happen to know if it has a test button? Or do you have a PSU tester by the off chance? some a test button in the back, have you tried a different outlet? does the fan even on the PSU work?

Sounds like if none of the above options work that PSU went bad.
