Hello,
my brother got a new pc build, but it's not working like intendend.
The first time we set up windows and installed the drivers, nothing was working at all even windows was lagging. After deinstalling Asus Ai Suit 3 this problem was solved, but the fps in games where still dropping, dunno I feel like the pc is underperforming (Overwatch, Dota, Heroes of the Storm)
Even after updating the grafic card driver.
So we installed windows and started all over again and now windows is lagging again (asus ai suit 3 was not installed this time) and games still don't work.

I don't know what might cause this issue.. are maybe some parts not compatible?

Here the specs:

Zotec Geforce GTX 760
Intel Core i7 7700K CPU @ 4.20GHz 4.20GHz
750W ATX PSU from MStec
2x G.Skill 8 GB DDR4 3200
Asus Z170-A

Solution
did you confirm you have the right bios version for your motherboard?

z170 = 6th gen
z270 = 7th gen

z170 are compatible with 7th gen but generally don't come with the correct bios to support it out of the box. it may boot with the unsupported bios but still cause the problems you are describing.

you need version 3007 or later

direct bios download for version 3401

Start where N3rdR4ge indicated. Make sure you got the latest BIOS that supports the 7xxx series CPUs. Flash it to it if you don't.

If that doesn't work get an app like CoreTemp and examine the temperatures of the CPU to make sure it isn't running so hot that it is throttling.

Tell us what you find either way.
