New build problems

Im thinking I have a DOA mobo. Setup for a bench test with a ECS Nforce6M-A mobo, Phenom x3, hyper 212, ATX 520w, HD6850, & 1G Ram. I'm trying to short the pwr on switch and hopefully I'm just not doing it right cause I ain't gettin' nothing, no fans, no lights (none present), no post beep. I have tested the PS to be good and tried 4 different sticks of ram. What is next to test to prove the mobo bad?

did you check the power cords ,your avr, and the psu switch at the back, the board should power up even w/out proc and ram
